The users I'm logged into these machines with already exist with older computers and they are able to log in just fine on those computers. I don't see any strange errors in the event viewers on the client machines or the server. I tried using a static and dynamic IP address on the client machines. I can browse out to that server through Network Places and access things. NSLOOKUP brings back the correct information. I can ping the server both by name and IP address. I can't figure out what could be different from these 4 than the other 2.
Outlook must be online or connected to complete this action." If I try to enter the server name and username under manual configuration, it tells me the same thing. But on the next step, they get through Establishing a connection quickly, get through search for server settings, but the last step, log in to server, always throws up the error that "A connection to Microsoft Exchange is unavailable. The other 4, however, during configuration have no problem automatically retrieving the users name and e-mail address.
On 2 of the 6, I've had no problem connecting Outlook to our Exchange server which is Exchange 2003 on a Windows 2003 Server machine. They all have Windows XP Pro SP3 and Office 2007. They are all members of the domain and I've logged in as the end user. But I have 6 laptops I'm building for new users right now. I'm not sure if this problem lies with Outlook, or Exchange, or the network.
